Before you start, rest assured that you don't need to know anything that is on this page. You give us your brief on how you want the website to look and we build it on this structure. We put it all here because its interesting and people like to know. We build websites that you can edit yourselves. The jargon is "content managed" which means that you have a str ucture and a system that you can use to build a website yourself. I don't mean all the fancy pictures and that rubbish. I mean the TEXT that you want your customers to read, the prices you want to put on special, the latest news, that things that are working well that you want to shout about. The text is so critical - its how Google indexes your website, how people find you, and it is the unique stuff that makes your website a place customers come to learn from you. All websites are built on the text you have to write about your business. It doesn't matter if you can write properly or not or if you have wiggly pictures doing dances across the top. It matters if your customers can find you, that they enjoy your website, and most of all of course if they buy what you have to sell. To get people coming back and back and to get them to buy something takes time and effort and continuous focus on your website in conjunction with everything else you do in business. Its no good having a super website if its not on your business card. Its also no good having a superb business card if someone goes to your website and it looks like dirt. So how do you do it ? Simply put - make your website somewhere you all use and your customers visit regularly. Make it simple and easy and drive people to use it. But changing you website is difficult right, it takes technical expertise - ah rubbish. If its built on a system, you can enter your own website, change the text, add a note, and save it immediately. Imagine that - "Today's special is Roast Beef at £10/Kg" would be nice, wouldn't it. That's what we do. We build websites you can change yourself. We use this system, which is OpenSource ( more about that later ) because it is supported by literally thousands of people and works like a dream. More to the point, its free. You don't pay for software, you only pay for our time.
